
Juliana McDonald earns America East Swimmer of the Week honor

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine swimmer Juliana McDonald has been named the America East Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
McDonald picked up four individual wins over the weekend, including helping to lead the Black Bears to a team victory over Providence.
Against Providence, McDonald swept the freestyle events, picking up first place honors in the 50-yard free (24.83) and the 100-yard free (59.30). She was also a member of the Black Bears' winning 200-yard medley relay (1:49.35) and 200-yard freestyle relay teams (1:39.46).
In a rival meet against New Hampshire, McDonald won the 50-yard free (24.65) and placed third in the 100-yard free (59.10). Maine and McDonald picked up another relay win as the team touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:30.20).
The Black Bears are back in action Feb. 4 when they travel to Clark University for the Cougar Invitational.
