Swimming and Diving Announces 2017-18 Schedule

ORONO, Maine – University of Maine swimming and diving head coach Susan Lizzotte has announced the team's 2017-18 schedule. The Black Bears will host two dual meets at the Stanley M. Wallace Pool to kick of the season.
Maine will host the University of Rhode Island's women's team and URI's men's club team in the season opener on October 21 at 11:00 a.m. The following week, the Black Bears will stay at home to compete against regional foe Dartmouth on October 28.
The women's team will travel to Burlington to face Vermont on November 4th in the first America East meet of the season.
Next on the docket for both the men and women's teams is The Harold Anderson Invitational on the weekend of November 17th. Maine will go head-to-head with Assumption, Bryant, Holy Cross, Providence, and invitational host URI in Kingston, R.I.
After the Harold Anderson Invitational, Maine will close out 2017 on the weekend of December 1-2 challenging for the state crown at the Maine State Meet, hosted by Bowdoin College. Along with Bowdoin, Bates College and Colby College will also head to Brunswick for the annual state championships.
The Black Bears will resume action right where they left off on January 20 in a dual non-scoring meet against Bowdoin in Brunswick. The women's team will take on rival UNH on January 26. The men's team will join the women's team on a road trip to face Providence the following day in the final dual meet of the season for both teams.
The swimming and diving teams will close out their season at the America East Championships, which will be held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Sport and Recreation Center from February 15-18.
