Baseball Drops Rubber game of Series Against Albany 9-4

ALBANY, New York -- Maine Baseball drops rubber game of the series against the Albany Great Danes 9-4 Sunday afternoon. The Black Bears drop to 17-29 overall on the season and are 6-11 in conference play.
Chris Murphy started on the hill for Maine and Ryan Stinar received the start for Albany.
The Black Bears opened with an early 3-0 lead in the first with a double to right center.
Albany answered in the bottom of the third with two runs of their own. Kyle Sacks scored on a wild pitch and Evan Harasta hit a sacrifice fly to center scoring their second run.
Murphy finished the day pitching two and two thirds innings, allowing no hits, two runs, five walks and six strikeouts. Eddie Emerson came on in relief.
In the bottom of the fifth Albany rallied for six runs to take the lead. Evan Harasta started the scoring with a double to left field driving in two runs as the Great Danes took their first lead of the game 4-3. Harasta later scored on a passed ball to increase their lead 5-3. Karson Canaday doubled to left field driving in another run. Later in the inning, Patrick Lagravinese walked with the bases loaded as Albany took a 7-3 advantage. Kyle Sacks then scored the final run of the inning with a sacrifice fly to right field, Albany led 8-3.
Eddie Emerson pitched in one and two thirds of an inning, allowing four hits, six runs four of them earned and struck out three.
In the top of the eighth, Caleb Kerbs singled to second base scoring Kevin Stypulkowski, Maine cut into the Albany lead 8-4.
Tre Todd then in the bottom of the eighth doubled to center field scoring once more as the Great Danes increased their margin, 9-4.
Maine was unable to push across a run in their final at bat.
Emerson received the loss and is now 2-2 on the year. Ryan Stinar earned the win (5-0).
The Black Bears return to Mahaney Diamond for their final homestand of the season. Game one begins Saturday May 14 at 3:00 p.m.
