Alyson Matteau selected to Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Rookie of the Month Runner-Up

This week Maine Freshman Alyson Matteau was selected to the Hockey East Pro-Ambitions All-Rookie team for her accomplishments in her first season. She was also selected as Hockey East Pro-Ambitions Rookie of the Month Runner Up for February.
In the month of February Matteau had 3 points in 6 games played for the Black Bears, including a goal and 2 assists, and was a runner up in February Rookie of the Month to BC's Makenna Newkirk.
This season, Matteau debuted with 12 points on 6 goals and assists, leading all Freshmen and Defenders on the roster in points, including 3 power play goals, 1 short-handed goal, and a game-winning goal. Her 12 points puts her third in overall team scoring behind Senior Audra Richards and Sophomore Brooke Stacey; she appeared in all 35 games the Black Bears played this year.
Matteau will be recognized at the Hockey East Rewards Banquette, this Friday at the Hockey East semi-final weekend event.
