Sole earns third America East Rookie of the Week honor

Freshman forward averaged 15.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.0 apg
ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine freshman forward Laia Sole has earned her third America East Rookie of the Week honor, as announced by the conference on Monday, Dec. 12. Sole averaged 15.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 70.6-percent (12-for-17) from the floor in a pair of wins for the Black Bears.
Sole matched her career-high with 16 points in Maine's victory over Northeastern. In that game, she added four rebounds and three assists with a 6-for-10 mark from the floor and a 4-for-6 showing from the free throw stripe. Sole followed her Northeastern performance up by netting 15 points with four rebounds and three assists in a home win over Dartmouth. The freshman forward again was highly efficient from the floor, knocking down 6-of-7 shots and hitting 3-of-5 free throw attempts.
Sole, who has now posted double-digit scoring efforts in three of her last four games, and the Black Bears are back in action on Saturday, De. 17 when they travel to take on Bryant at 1 p.m.
