Sole Earns America East Rookie of the Week Accolade

Freshman averaged 11.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.5 apg
Orono, Maine -- University of Maine freshman forward Laia Sole has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday, Nov. 14.
Sole, who earned the accolade in her first weekend of collegiate action, averaged 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists. The performance earned her a spot on the Tipoff Tournament All-Tournament team.
The freshman forward scored 14 points in Maine's season opening victory over Purdue, finishing the contest 6-for-12 from the floor with three assists. Sole completed the weekend with an eight points, four rebound showing in the Tipoff Tournament Championship game against No. 10 Mississippi St.
Maine returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 15 when it travels to take on Harvard at 6 p.m.
