
Women's Ice Hockey Leads Hockey East With 19 on All-Academic Team

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's ice hockey team led all Hockey East schools as it had 18 student-athletes named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team on Wednesday. In addition, Jessica Hall (Ingersoll, Ontario) and Katy Massey (Waterville, Maine) were named two of five Hockey East Top Scholar-Athletes. It is the fourth straight year that Massey has earned the honor.
Hall and Massey were each named to the 2014-15 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team, which honors the top grade point averages by position. Both achieved a perfect 4.0 this past year.
Massey was one of nine student-athletes to be named Distinguished Scholars, having been named to the All-Academic Team all four of her years with the Black Bears.
Hall, Abbey Cook (Fairpoint, N.Y.), Brooklyn Langlois (Steinbach, Manitoba), Kelsey MacSorley (Stratford, Ontario), Jennifer More (Deloraine, Manitoba), and Audra Richards (Maplewood, Minn.) were all honored for the third time in their careers.
Eve Boissonneault (Sudbury, Ontario), Emilie Brigham (Anoka, Minn.), Hailey Browne (Oakville, Ontario) and Jessica Vallatton (Glenboro, Manitoba) were honored for the second time in their careers.
Kristin Gilmour (Millgrove, Ontario), Vicoria Hummel (Tulln, Austria), Taylor Landry (Auburn, Maine), Brooke Stacey (Kahnawake, Quebec), Meghann Treacy (Lake Peekskill, N.Y.) and Anna Wright (North Berwick, Maine) were all honored for the first time in their careers.
