
Heath Named America East Player of the Week and Courtney Named America East Rookie of the Week

ORONO, Maine – University of Maine baseball players Scott Heath (Westbrook, Maine) and Justin Courtney (Bangor, Maine) were both honored by America East today. Heath was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday, while Courtney received America East Rookie of the Week honors.
Heath hit .481 on the week in six games with 10 runs scored and eight RBI. He belted four home runs and had a pair of doubles to finish the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage. In the first game of Maine's doubleheader at NYIT on Saturday, Heath belted two home runs and had a double in the game. He also got the start on the mound for the Black Bears and struck out a career-high 11 batters. He hit his third home run of the weekend in the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday and then also homered on Sunday for the Black Bears.
Courtney went the distance in Maine's 9-1 win over NYIT in the series opener on Friday afternoon for his first nine inning complete game. He allowed just one run on eight hits, while tying his career in strikeouts with five.
The Black Bears return home to host Binghamton this weekend in the final home games of the 2015 seasons. The Black Bears and Bearcats will play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 4 PM and a single game on Saturday at 4 PM.
