Justin Courtney Named America East Rookie of the Week

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine freshman pitcher Justin Courtney (Bangor, Maine) was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday. It is the second time in three weeks that Courtney has received the honor.
Courtney allowed just one unearned run on six five hits over six innings in a 4-1 win over Albany on Friday.
Courtney is 5-5 on the season with a team-best 2.83 ERA. He has struck out 37 batters in 70 innings. In conference play, Courtney is 4-1 is 2.13. He ranks third in America East in ERA in conference games and third in wins.
Courtney and the Black Bears return to action on Thursday, May 21 when they face UMBC in the America East Tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM from LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.
