Harvey, Sharp Lead Black Bears at Day Two of America East Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of Maine women's swimming and diving teams competed at Day Two of the 2015 America East Championships on Friday in Worcester, Mass.
Naja Harvey (Orono, Minnesota) led the way for the Black Bears on the day as she placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle. She set a school record with a time of 23.56 in the preliminaries, and then swam a 23.59 in the finals.
In addition to Harvey, Emily Borger (Air Force Base, Mass.) was 10th time a time of 24.05. Emily Buczkwski (Woolwich, Maine) was 15th with a time of 24.36, while Katerina Mosquera-Cardi touched in 24.41 to place 16th.
Taylor Sharp (Burlington, Ontario) placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.50. Kailey Dowd (Mendon, Mass.) finished 12th with a time of 5:10.73 in the B final.
Samantha Mathieu (Oakland, Maine) finished 12th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.37.
Maine's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Harvey, Buczkowski, Mosquera-Cardi and Borger placed fifth with a time of 1:35.36.
The 2015 America East Championships continue to Saturday, Feb. 14. Prelims begin at 10 AM.
