Women's Swimming and Diving Loses Tough Battle at Vermont

Burlington, VT - The Black Bear's Women's Swimming and Diving team took on Vermont on Saturday, and posted a few event victories but ultimately fell to the Catamounts, 180-110.
Vermont took the 200 yard medley relay and most of the singles events, as Maine swimmers would finish either second or third to Vermont swimmers in almost every event.
Maine's score was aided by a win in the 200 yard freestyle Relay, and the 200 yard IM which saw 3 Black Bears place first through third; the event was won by Shayla Rose Kleisinger with a 2:12.29 final time, second was Emma Pontius with a 2:14.21, and Samantha Mathieu in third with 2:17.53.
In the end those points from the Black Bears were not enough to close the gap between them and Vermont, who won 12 out of 13 singles events.
The Black Bears Women's team rejoins the men's team to swim again on Nov 20 for the URI invite.
