Koizar Garners America East Player of the Week Honors

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's basketball junior guard Sigi Koizar has been named the America East Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday, Nov. 30.
Koizar, who led the Black Bears to a 3-1 record in the last week, averaged 19.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 56.5-percent from the floor, 50.0% from 3-point range and went 16-for-20 from the free throw stripe.
The junior guard opened her week with a 21 point performance in a win over Central Connecticut State. Koizar, who was named to the Gulf Coast Showcase All-Tournament team, posted 16 points in Maine's loss to Dayton in the first round of the showcase. Koizar followed up her performance by pouring in a career-high 30 points in a victory over Missouri St. before adding nine more points in Maine's victory over LSU.
