Nigel Beckford Earns CAA Rookie of the Week Honors

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine freshman running back Nigel Beckford (Bridgeport, Conn.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.

Beckford rushed eight times for 29 yards and two second quarter touchdowns, helping lead the Black Bears to a 27-24 win on the road at Towson. The two scores were the first of Beckford's career at the University of Maine.
