
Maine Sets 16 School Records in the 2013-2014 Season

ORONO, Maine- The University of Maine men's and women's swimming and diving teams set a total of 16 school records in the 2013-2014 season.
Junior Naja Harvey (Orono, Minn) set a total of five school records including new school records in the 50 free, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and helped achieve new record in the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard medley relay.
Senior Shannon Bender (Cumberland, R.I.) ended her career as a Black Bear setting new school records in the 200 backstroke and the 400 IM.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay Harvey, Lauren Dwyer (Orono, Maine), Katerina Mosquera-Cardi (Montreal, Canada) and Emily Buczkowski (Woolwich, Maine) set a new school record.
Harvey, Mosquera-Cardi, Erica Smrcina (North Falmouth, Mass.) and Amber Murray (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) teamed up to set a new school record in the 400-yard medley relay.
On the men's side, Matt England (Bangor, Maine) set new school records in the 100-yard backstroke, twice both at the ECAC's. England also set a new school record in the 200-yard backstroke.
England, Caleb Hoffman (Waterville, Maine), John Carlucci (Danbury, Conn.) and David Vittori (South Berwick, Maine) teamed up and set a new school in the 200-yard medley relay.
Hoffman, England, Carlucci and Sergey Terrio (Oakland, Maine) achieved a new school record in the 400-yard medley relay.
Carlucci set new school records in the 200-yard IM, 400 IM and the 200 fly.
Maine ended their season at the ECAC's this past weekend in Annapolis, Md. The men took a seventh place finish and the women took 14th.
