Maine Track and Field Completes Day One of the NEICAAA Indoor Meet

DAY TWO HEAT SHEET
BOSTON, Mass. – The Maine men and women's track and field teams, fresh of their finishes at the America East championships earlier in the week, were right back at it at the NEICAAA Indoor Championships held in Boston, Mass on Friday. Six Maine athletes competed in day one of the meet with the second day taking place on Saturday.
Ashten Hackett got thing started in the 60-meter hurdles, coming in 14th with a time of 9.20 seconds. Jaclyn Masters was next on the women's side securing an eighth-place finish in the pole vault with a final height of 11-05.75 (3.50 meters). Emily Boardman competed in the weight throw and came in ninth with a distance of 50-03.50 (15.33m).
The men's side also had three athletes compete on day one as Daniel Roukey ran in the 60m with a mark of 7.15 and an 18thplace finish. Scott Merrill had the best finish of the day of any Maine entrant coming in sixth in the 500-meter dash with a final time of 1:05.64. Tristan Wortman doubled-up in events competing in both the 60-meter hurdles and the pole vault. In the 60m hurdles Wortman came in 18th with a time of 8.67 seconds, and then followed it up with a 15th-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 14-09.50 (4.51m).
