Liz Wood Honored as America East Co-Player of the Week

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's basketball junior forward Liz Wood (Catlett, Va.) has been named the America East Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Wood averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in leading the Black Bears to the Thanksgiving Tournament championship. For her success, Wood earned All-Tournament MVP honors. The junior foward went 55.2-percent from the floor (16-for-29), 7-for-15 from 3-point range (46.7-percent) and added three steals.
In Maine's win over Brown, Wood poured in a career-high 25 points as she went 5-for-7 from beyond the arc while pulling down five rebounds, dishing out a pair of assists and forcing two turnovers.
Wood added 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists in Maine's championship victory over Boston College on Sunday. Wood went 7-for-14 from the floor as her offensive rebound put back with under a minute left tied the contest and sent the game into overtime.
Maine returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 when it travels to take on Central Connecticut State at 7 p.m.
