Football Hosts #1 New Hampshire in Home Finale

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine (5-5, 4-3 CAA) looks for its fourth-straight win when it hosts #1 New Hampshire (9-1, 7-0 CAA) in the historic Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket live on the NBC Sports Network.
GAME STORYLINES:
- This meeting will be the 103rd all-time meeting between Maine and New Hampshire and the 55th home meeting in the series for the Black Bears. New Hampshire leads the all-time series 51-43-8 and ride a four-game winning streak against the Black Bears into Orono. Maine's last win in the series came in 2010, a 16-13 overtime victory at home. The Wildcats have won 11 of the last 12 meetings. Prior to the streak, Maine won three-straight from 2000-02. The teams first met in 1903, a 10-0 win by the Black Bears which started an eight-game winning streak to begin the all-time series. The two teams met last season in the Second Round of the NCAA playoffs, a 41-27 win by UNH. Maine is 26-25-1 at home against the Wildcats.
- Maine will match-up against a #1 ranked team for the first time since hosting #1 Richmond on Oct. 17, 2009. Maine will be looking for its first ever win against a #1 team.
- The Wildcats rank second in the CAA in scoring offense at 38.7 points per game and have scored 40+ more points in six of their 10 contests, including the last three.
- Maine's second ranked pass defense (172.5 ypg) will face the #2 ranked pass offense in New Hampshire (288.1). The Wildcats have scored 24 touchdowns through the air. The Black Bears enter with seven interception takeaways in their last three games.
