#6 Boston University powers by the Black Bears

ORONO, Maine—The University of Maine Women's Ice Hockey team opened its home stand with a 1-0 loss against #6 Boston University at Alfond Arena Friday afternoon. Maine falls to 2-5-1 on the season, while Boston University improves to 4-0-1.
Meghann Treacy (Lake Peakskill, New York) and Victoria Hanson kept the game scoreless through the first period despite 19 combined shots on goal.
Marie-Philip Poulin broke the tie with a goal off a rebound at 0:28 in the second period. Sarah Lefort and Shannon Doyle each had an assist on Poulin's fifth goal of the season.
Victoria Bach tipped home a goal at 12:54 to put the Terriers up 2-0. Lillian Ribeirinha-Braga chipped in with an assist.
Sarah Lefort added an assisted third goal at 8:30 in the third period.
Treacy finished the game with 27 saves for the Black Bears, and Hanson finished with 20 for Boston University. Each team was 0-3 on the power play.
Maine returns to action at Alfond Arena on Saturday October 25th against Boston University. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
