Lawrence Named ECAC Pitcher of the Year, White Named to the ECAC Second Team

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine junior pitcher Tommy Lawrence (West Haven, Conn.) was named the 2013 ECAC Pitcher of the Year and also earned a spot on the ECAC First Team, announced on Tuesday, July 2. In addition, Eric White (Brewer, Maine) was named to the ECAC Second Team.
For Lawrence, it is the latest in a long list of honors for the pitcher. He was named the America East Pitcher of the Year, named to the America East First Team and the America East All-Tournament Team. Lawrence earned a spot on the Northeast Region First Team as well.
Lawrence finished the season 11-3 with a 2.32 earned run average. His 11 wins set a school record for wins in a season. He started 15 games on the season which tied the school record for starts in a season. In addition, he set the America East Conference wins record with eight. He pitched 104.2 innings and struck out 78 batters on the season. Lawrence led the team in complete games with six.
White earned a spot on the America East First Team and was named to the Northeast Region Second Team. The third baseman hit .347 in 56 games for the Black Bears last season. He scored 38 runs and drove in 37. White had 10 doubles and led the team in home runs with six.
