Robbie Bickford, Cody Lachance Selected to Senior Skulls

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine men's swimmers Robbie Bickford (Milford, Maine) and Cody Lachance (Winslow, Maine) have each been selected to the prestigious University of Maine Senior Skulls honor society.
Bickford, a junior biochemistry major, has most recently been named to the America East All-Academic team. Bickford had a solid showing at this year's America East Championships as he finished sixth in the 1650-freestyle with a time of 16:38.20. Bickford was 12th in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:44.51 and helped the 400-yard medley relay team set a new school-record with a third place showing in 3:29.15. Bickford was also a member of the second place team in the 800-yard freestyle relay at 6:56.86. Bickford has formerly been named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll as well as being named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Silver Medalist.
Lachance, a junior forestry major, was most recently named one of the Black Bears who will captian the 2013-14 squad next season. Lachance placed seventh in both the 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.96) and the 400-yard IM (4:17.79) at the 2013 America East Championships. Lachance was 13th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:58.47. Lachance is an America East Commissioner's Honor Roll member as well as a Maine Scholar-Athlete Silver Medalist.
In existence since 1914, the Senior Skulls were founded to recognize senior male students at UMaine who exhibit strong moral character, outstanding school spirit, leadership, strong academic achievement, and ability to serve as role model for underclassmen. Twelve men, chosen each spring, represent the top 1% of senior men at the University and are true leaders on campus.
