Women's Track Performs Well at Wildcat Invitational

ORONO, Maine – Jesse Labreck (Oakland, Maine) notched an ECAC Championship-qualifying mark to lead the University of Maine women's track and field team at the UNH Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.
Labreck won the 100-meter hurdles in a dominating performance. Her time of 13.79 ranks among the top-3 in school history and qualifies for the ECAC Championships. Teammate Ashten Hackett (Auburn, Maine) took runner-up honors in the event with a time of 15.12. Hackett also won the triple jump with a leap of 34-02.75.
Shannon O'Neil (Milan, N.H.) won the 400 in a time of 59.27 and was followed in second by Mary Scanlan (Pembroke, Mass.) with a time of 59.37.
Katherine McGeoghan (Agawam, Mass.) won the high jump with a leap of 5-03.75 while Robyn McFetters (Barrington, R.I.) won the hammer throw with a top-3 school mark of 176-01.
Angelica Nelligan-Smith (Glenburn, Maine) and Marie Dufresne-Dixon (Auburn, Maine) each notched top-5 school marks in the pole vault, taking second and third respectively with 10-08.75.
The Black Bear women were second with 156 points while New Hampshire won the meet with 271.50 points.
