Shawna Lesperance and Emilie Brigham Named Hockey East Player and Rookie of the Week

Shawna Lesperance (Belle River, Ontario) was named Hockey East Player of the Week and teammate Emilie Brigham (Anoka, Minn.) was named Hockey East Rookie of the week on Tuesday morning.
Lesperance notched her first two goals of the season in Maine's game against Union College on Saturday. Lesperance's first goal was a power play goal, followed by an empty net goal in the final seconds of the game. Lesperance helped her team achieve a 6-3 victory over Union.
Brigham added a goal her third of the season in Maine's game against Union on Saturday to help achieve a 6-3 win. This is the first time Brigham has received an award from Hockey East.
Maine returns to the ice on January 11th to take on Boston University at Alfond Arena. The puck drops at 3pm.
