#8/9 Football Travels to Albany Looking for Sixth Straight Win

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine football team (8-1, 5-0 CAA) continues CAA action when it travels to meet Albany (1-8, 0-5 CAA) in league action Saturday afternoon.
GAME STORYLINES:
- A win for the Black Bears will move them to 9-1 and give Maine its best start in program history dating back to 1892. A win will also move Maine to 6-0 in league play for the first time since it began conference action (Yankee Conference) 6-0 in 1989.
- Maine has won 10 straight FCS contests, dating back to a 51-7 win on Nov. 10, 2012 against Georgia State.
- Maine is coming off a come from behind 19-14 victory at home over Stony Brook. John Ebleing (six catches, 106-yards, one TD) gave Maine the lead with a 24-yard reception late in the fourth quarter. Wasilewski went 15-for-24 with 188-yards while Rickey Stevens rushed 12 times for 74-yards and score. Maine's defense held Stony Brook to just 129 passing yards.
- With two sacks against Stony Brook, Mike Cole became Maine's all-time leader in sacks. Cole currently has 28.0 sacks in his time at Maine, surpassing Mike Denino's ('89) 27.5.
- QB Marcus Wasilewski currently has 2,251 passing yards on the year; ninth best all-time. Wasilewski needs 872 yards to break Warren Smith's 3,122 yards (2011) mark for tops in a season all-time. Wasilewski is also 10 passing TDs away from tying Mickey Fein's 27 TDs in a season mark, set in 1998. Last week, Wasilewski surpassed Bobby Wilder for seventh in all-time passing yards (4,626).
- Maine and Albany have met six times in its history with Albany holding a 4-2 advantage. Albany has won three of the past four meetings, including last season's 30-20 win at Maine. The Black Bears took the last meeting at Albany 31-15 in 2011. Wasilewski threw for 264-yards and two scores in last season's game.
- Albany ranks last in the CAA in points allowed (35.3), total defense (469.7), rushing yards allowed (209.2) and 10th in passing yards allowed (260.4). Maine enters the weekend second in passing yards per game (254.0) and fourth in total offense (438.3).
