Giving Tuesday - Give to the Alfond Challenge Today!!

ORONO, Maine -- It has been a historic year for the University of Maine football team. Here is your opportunity to give back on Giving Tuesday, prior to Maine's huge game against rival New Hampshire on Saturday.

There are many ways that fans can help meet the Alfond Challenge and strengthen UMaine football. The Harold Alfond Foundation will match gifts to UMaine on a 1:1 basis up to a total of $250,000 if specific terms and conditions are met. The athletic department is counting on generous alumni and friend to help meet the challenge. Your gift can help us meet a variety of needs, including expenses related to recruitment, team travel and equipment.

Gifts of cash and marketable securities are eligible for the Foundation. You can go to http://umaine.edu/alfondchallenge to pledge today. Gifts from UMaine football alumni are especially welcome and important to meeting the conditions of the Alfond Challenge. The Foundation is seeking gifts from at least 255 football alumni before the end of this calendar year.
