ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine sophomore kicker Sean Decloux (Ottawa, Ontario) has been named this week's Colonial Athletic Association special teams player of the week, as announced by the association on Monday morning.
Decloux helped the Black Bears lock up their first ever CAA title, and their first overall title since 2002, with a 41-0 win over Rhode Island on Saturday. Decloux, who leads all kickers in total scoring, finished Saturday 2-for-2 on field goals to tie the Maine single-season record of 13 made field goals while also converting on all five of his PATs. Decloux was good from 38 yards and 36 yards and now stands just one field goal away from being the all-time record holder for field goals made in a season.
The Black Bears return to action as they look to reclaim the Brice Cowell musket when they travel to face rival New Hampshire on Saturday at noon. This weekend's matchup will be televised nationally on Comcast SportsNet.
