Maine Women's Cross Country Concludes Season at NCAA Regionals

BRONX, N.Y. – Carolyn Stocker paced the Maine women's cross country team with a 99th place overall finish as the Black Bears concluded the 2013-14 season at the NCAA Northeast Regionals held in the Bronx, N.Y. Maine finished in 31st place overall.
Stocker finished the race with a time of 22:20.7 as she once again was the first Black Bear to cross the finish line. Monique Boutin was the second Maine entrant to finish with a 152nd placing, clocking in with a time of 22:54.70.
Shannon O'Neil and Ashton Weiler finished back-to-back as they registered times of 24:28.20 and 24.29.30, respectively.
Ariel McNett (218th, 24:30.30), Mary Scanlan (232nd, 24:52.20) rounded Maine's competitors.
Providence took first place in the event with every one of their runners coming in the top-100 while five finished in the top-20.
Dartmouth and Syracuse finished second and third respectively.
The Big Green's Abbey D'Agostino finished with a time of 19:48.30 to take the top-spot in the race.
Both in the men's and women's races the Ivy League represented very well as the individual champion was represented by an Ancient Eight as Harvard's Maksim Korolev finished first for the men while D'Agostino took first for Dartmouth in the women's race.
