Liz Wood Honored as America East Rookie of the Week

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine freshman women's basketball standout Liz Wood (Catlett, Va.) has earned her second America East Rookie of the Week award, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Wood averaged 9.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds over the past week.
Wood tallied her second career double-double against Towson as she poured in 11 points to go along with a career-high matching 10 rebounds while setting a new career high of five assists with a pair of blocks and a steal. At James Madison, Wood notched seven points with five rebounds, one assist and one steal and was perfect from the free throw line.
The Black Bears return to action on New Year's Day in their final non-conference game of the season as they play VCU at 2 PM.
