Liz Wood Named America East Rookie of the Week

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine freshman women's basketball standout Liz Wood (Catlett, Va.) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Wood tallied a double-double, the first of her career and the first for the Black Bears this season, in Saturday's game at Florida Gulf Coast. The freshman scored 10 points with 10 rebounds to go along with a pair of assists. Wood shot 4-for-10 from the field and 2-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Wood is currently averaging 7.7 points per game and is tied for the team lead in rebounding at 5.0 rebounds per game. Wood's nine three-pointers is tops amongst the Black Bears as she is shooting 33.9% from the field and 34.6% from three-point range.
The Black Bears return to action on Wednesday evening at 6 PM when they travel to face Siena in Albany, N.Y.
