Brittany Ott Honored by WHEA

Wakefield, Mass. – A University of Maine women's ice hockey player has been honored with a Women's Hockey East Association (WHEA) weekly award. As announced by the league on Monday, Senior Goaltender, Brittany Ott (St. Clair Shores, Michigan) has been named this week's WHEA Defensive Player of the Week.
Ott allowed two goals while posting 73 saves in 105 minutes of play over the weekend.
Ott played the final 40 minutes of a 4-3 win against Bemidji State University on Friday night, allowing no goals with 37 saves on the night. Ott was named second star and saw her record improve to 2-2-0 for her efforts in the victory.
Ott got the start for the Black Bears in game two action on Saturday night where she would allow two goals with 36 saves in the 2-2 draw with Bemidji State. The Black Bears took the 2-1 shootout win. Ott was named third star for her efforts in the contest.
The Black Bears skate back into WHEA action when they host New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM.
