Baseball Making Final Preparations in North Carolina

DURHAM, NC -- The University of Maine baseball team is making final preparations prior to its 6 PM game on Friday night against #3 North Carolina in the NCAA Regional. It has been a busy few days for the Black Bears, who arrived in North Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.
After early morning flights on Wednesday, the Black Bears touched down in Raleigh, North Carolina on Wednesday around 1 PM. After checking into its hotel, the Maine team toured the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area.
Maine first went to Chapel Hill and drove by Boshamer Stadium, where the NCAA Regional games will be played this weekend. The Black Bears then stopped by the Dean Smith Center and went inside the Dean Dome, where the Tar Heel basketball teams play. Maine then travels down Tabacco Road to Duke University. The Black Bears made a stop at Cameron Indoor Stadium and got to see where the Blue Devil basketball team plays. After that, it was back to the hotel for an early night as the majority of the team had woken up prior to 4 AM.
On Thursday, the Black Bears had a team breakfast in the morning before heading over to Boshamer Stadium for practice. Maine's allotted practice time by the NCAA was 2:30 to 3:45. Maine stretched in an adjacent field prior to practice. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 90's for the second day in a row, so staying hydrated was key.
The team then returned to the hotel, while Coach Trimper and other administrators had a pre-tournament meeting at Boshamer Stadium.
The Black Bears will have a team breakfast on Friday morning and a team lunch prior to heading to Boshamer Stadium around 3:30 for their 6 PM game. Florida International and James Madison begin the regional with a game at 1 PM. The Black Bears will take batting practice at 4:40 prior to the game on Friday.
