Bilodeau Named to All-Northeast Region Second Team

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine junior pitcher Keith Bilodeau (Bourne, Mass.) has been named to the All-Northeast Region Second Team. It is the most recently in a string of honors for the right-handed pitcher who just completed an outstanding season for the Black Bears.
Bilodeau was one of five student-athlete from America East named to either the All-Northeast Region First or Second Team. The other four were all Stony Brook Seawolves.
Bilodeau finished 10-3 on the season with a 3.04 ERA. He led the team in innings pitched with 91.2 on the season and struck out 83 batters in the process. Opponent hitters batted just .238 against Bilodeau on the season. He led the team with five complete games and also had a pair of shutouts.
Bilodeau tied the school record with 10 wins on the season. He won eight straight games at one point during the campaign. He got the start in Maine's NCAA Regional game at North Carolina, the third ranked team in the nation. Bilodeau allowed just five hits over seven innings to the Tar Heels while striking out six. After surrendering four runs in the first inning, Bilodeau shut the Tar Heel offense down the remainder of the game.
He pitched a complete game in Maine's 4-3 win over Binghamton in the America East Tournament. He allowed just three runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits while striking out six Bearcat batters.
Bilodeau was recently named to the America East First Team and the America East All-Tournament Team. He was also named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association First Team.
Bilodeau was recently drafted in the 24th round of the 2011 MLB Entry Draft by the San Francisco Giants. He is currently playing for the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer. In his first game of the season, he pitched six scoreless innings allowing just three hits.
