SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The University of Maine men's basketball team travels to take on San Diego on Saturday at 9 p.m. Fans can catch all the action on the Black Bear Sports Network.
Storylines
The University of Maine men's basketball team (3-3) travels to take the University of San Diego (4-4).
The Black Bears are coming off a close 87-78 loss to Big East powerhouse Notre Dame by the score of 87-78.
Gerald McLemore scored a game-high 27 points while Justin Edwards added 20 point and six rebounds and Alasdair Fraser added 17 points and seven rebounds.
San Diego is coming off a loss to rival San Diego State by a 74-62 margin.
Chris Manresa led the Toreros with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Edwards has now scored at least 20 points and grabbed five rebounds in five of his first six games while McLemore has scored at least 26 points in two out of the last three contests.
The game will be the first between the two sides.
The game marks a homecoming for McLemore who is from San Diego and attended Scripps Ranch High School, leading the team to a San Diego Section Division II title as a senior.
Justin Edwards became just the seventh player in league history and first since 2006 to notch three-consecutive America East Rookie of the Week Awards.
