Ott, Black Bears Honored by Hockey East

ORONO, Maine--University of Maine women's hockey goalie
Brittany Ott (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) has earned the WHEA
Defensive Player of the Week for the Black Bears. Ott helped Maine
pick up wins on the road at Vermont and New Hampshire. She saved 55
of the 57 shots she faced for a .965 save percentage, including a
32 save shutout performance against New Hampshire.
The team also was awarded the WHEA Team of the Week Award. The
Black Bears picked up four points on the road this week with a 5-2
win at Vermont and a 3-0 victory at New Hampshire. The team scored
twice on power plays and three goals during shorthanded play. With
the wins, the Black Bears record improved to 9-5-4 overall and
4-3-1 in Hockey East action.
