Dougherty, Ott, and Black Bears Honored by Hockey East

ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine earned three Hockey East awards this week, including Brittany Dougherty (Chesterfield, Mich.) for Athletic Republic Player of the Week, Brittany Ott (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) for Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week, and the WHEA Team of the Week.
Dougherty tallied four goals during the week, one in a 3-2 loss against No. 9 Northeastern and a hat trick in a 5-2 victory against No. 5 Boston College. Brittany Ott saved 59 out of 64 shots faced giving her a .921 save percentage for the week including a 31 save performance against Boston College and 28 saves against Northeastern.
The Black Bears as a whole were honored for solid play during both games. Maine will resume action for a weekend series against the Providence College Friars in Providence on Saturday, November 5, at 1 p.m.
