Chornobil Named America East Swimmer of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior distance swimmer Yuri Chornobil (Rochester, N.Y.) has been named this week's America East Swimmer of the Week after he paced the Black Bears to a solid showing at the Husky Invitational and a win at Bryant University.
The junior distance swimmer lead the Black Bears to a 135-127 as he won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.95 and also added a second place finish in the 1000 free, touching the wall at 10:16.64. Chornobil kicked off the weekend by placing seventh in the 500 yard freestyle event with a time of 4:55.22 and was ninth in the 200 yard freestyle event out of 27 performers, touching the wall at 1:50.62.
The Black Bears return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they host Rhode Island at Wallace Pool beginning at 11 a.m.
