Women's Ice Hockey Announces 2010-11 Schedule

ORONO, Maine – Head women's ice hockey
coach Maria Lewis announced the 2010-11 schedule. The Black Bears
open the season with a six-game homestand. The season opener is
scheduled for September 24th at 7 p.m. against Sacred Heart. The
homestand wraps up with two games against Quinnipiac on October
15th and 16th.
UMaine will travel to Niagara, UConn and Providence next as a part
of a four-game road trip. The Black Bears will face Niagara for two
games on October 22nd and 23rd before traveling to UConn on
November 6th. The Hockey East schedule opens the next day against
the defending regular-season champions Providence.
UMaine returns home for Hockey East games against Northeastern on
November 11th and 12th. The Black Bears will face New Hampshire in
Lewiston, Maine on November 23rd at 7:30 p.m. Maine will travel to
Robert Morris and Vermont before returning home to face Union
College on December 10th and 11th.
The Black Bears will host Providence for two games on January 2nd
and 3rd. Maine will then travel to Boston, Mass. for four games
against Boston College, Boston University and Northeastern. Maine
returns to the Alfond for a two-game homestand against UConn on
January 21st and 22nd. The Black Bears travel to New
Hampshire for two games before returning home for the final four
regular season games. Maine will host defending Hockey East
Tournament champions Boston U. February 18th and 19th.
The Hockey East Tournament opens up February 25th and concludes
March 5-6th.
