Roberts Takes Rookie of the Week Crown for the Second Time

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Ashleigh Roberts (Wilmington, Del./Concord) capped off her stellar week in the Hatter Classic by being named America East Rookie of the Week Monday. It is the fourth such selection for Maine this season and the fourth Rookie of the Week Award in the last five weeks.
Roberts received the honor for the second time this season after scoring a career-high 16 points against Winthrop and topping that by one point with 17 against Stetson. Roberts was also named to the Hatter Classic All-Tournament Team after scoring 33 points in the two games.
The freshman guard opened the week with 16 points, two rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes against the Lady Eagles. She followed that the next day with 17 points, two rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes against the Hatters. Roberts made six field goals in both contests and shot 50% from the floor in the classic.
The Black Bears return to the court at Alfond Arena Wednesday against UMass at 7 p.m.
