AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Maine football team travels to take on the No. 15 Massachusetts Minutemen on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Black Bears Sports Network as well as on Comcast SportsNet New England, channel 38 in the Bangor area.
The University of Maine football team (3-5, 2-3 CAA) travels to take on No. 15 Massachusetts (5-3, 3-2).
Maine is coming off a bye week after defeating Rhode Island 28-23 on Oct. 23 while UMass is coming off a 21-14 come-from-behind victory over No. 15 James Madison.
Maine was led by RB Pushaun Brown who caught five passes for 75 yards and a score while also rushing for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Maine freshman RB Terrel Walker rushed four times for 99 yards, including an 86-yard run for a score en route to earning CAA Football Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 25.
Last season, Maine defeated UMass 19-9 behind a pair of interceptions by LB Donte Dennis.
The game is the second of three consecutive road contests for Maine.
The game features two of the top-3 players in the CAA in rushing with UMass' Jonathan Hernandez second with 85.4 rush yards per game and Maine's Jared Turcotte third with 75.3 yards per contest.
Maine currently has the ninth most-difficult schedule in the FCS and the 61st most-difficult among FCS and FBS schools.
Maine's Dennis is 15 tackles away from 200 for his career.
Maine's Derek Session has nearly doubled his career receptions, as he came into the season with 44 and now leads the team with 38.
UMass is Maine's fifth top-15 opponent in the last six games.
