KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Maine football team travels to take on the Rhode Island Rams on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Black Bear Sports Network.
Game Storylines
The University of Maine football team (2-5, 1-3 CAA) travels to take on Rhode Island (2-4, 1-2) in the Rams' Homecoming game.
Maine is coming off a 48-18 loss against No. 6 Villanova while Rhode Island fell at No 2 Delaware 24-17.
Maine was led by Tyrell Jones who made six catches for 64 yards and by Donte Dennis who notched 12 tackles including a TFL.
Rhode Island was led against Delaware by Joe Harris who had nine tackles, including three TFLs and a fumble recovery.
Last season, Maine defeated Rhode Island 41-17 behind QB Chris Treister who threw for 468 yards and completed a school record 40-of-46 pass attempts and five touchdowns through the air while rushing for another.
The game is the first of three consecutive road contests for Maine.
The game features two of the top-5 CAA players in tackles in Maine's Donte Dennis (fourth with 63) and Rhode Island's Matt Hansen (second with 71).
Maine currently has the fifth-hardest FCS schedule in the country according to the NCAA, and 53rd most difficult between FBS and FCS teams.
Maine's Dennis is 22 tackles away from 200 for his career.
Maine will be playing its only game of the season on natural grass.
