Susan Elias, while a member of both the track and cross country squads set records in the 880 yard run, 800 meter run, mile and 1500 meter run. She was also a member of three record setting relay teams during her University of Maine career. At the time of induction, she held Black Bear records in the 880 yard, mile and 1500 meters and was a member of the record holding 4x800 meter and two-mile relay teams. Following graduation, Elias went on to become a member of the Team Mazda women's cycling team and was the winner of the blue jersey (most consistent rider) in the 1989 Tour de France Feminin, where she finished fourth.
