Mike Bordick played shortstop for three seasons on the Maine baseball team, making two trips in the College World Series. He batted .296 in his career, and .364 as a junior before signing professionally with the Oakland A's in 1986. He was a member of the infield that set a Maine record for double plays at 61. He also set records for hits at 90 and singles at 71 while earning All-New England and All-Northeast Regional Tournament honors. Bordick played for the Oakland A's from 1990-96, the Baltimore Orioles from 1997-2000 and 2001-02, the New York Mets in 2000 and the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003.
