Mary Lou Winstel was a College Field Hockey Coaches of America third team All-American, a two-time All-Region and a two-time All-Conference field hockey goalie at the University of Maine. She was a four year letterwinner and a captain in 1994. She attended the USFHA Elite A camp from which the National Team is selected. She holds school records for most shutouts in a season with nine, most shutouts in a career with 29, goalkeeping saves in a season with 260 and goalkeeping saves in a career with 698.
