Martin McHale played both baseball and football at the University of Maine. He played an intergral role in the Black Bears' 21-15 record during his career in baseball. McHale recorded six shutouts in his three years as a pitcher and threw three straight no-hitters in 1910. Following his career at Maine, McHale played professionally for several teams including the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Montreal and Cleveland.
