University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame
Marion Rogers worked with Helen Lengyel to establish a women's physical education department and curriculum at the University of Maine. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Maine in 1930 and her Master's in 1936. In 1937, she became an assistant professor and advanced to associate in 1946 while coaching several sports. In 1951 she became the Director of the Women's Physical Education and Athletics Department. In all, she was part of the University of Maine community as a student, instructor and leader from 1927 to 1962 - a span of 35 years.
