University of Maine Athletics

Woody Carville was a student-athlete, coach and administrator at the University of Maine for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the football and basketball teams and won the Washington Watch Award, presented annually to the most outstanding member of the senior class. Carville returned to Maine in 1960 to coach basketball, baseball and football. During the late 1960's he became the assistant Dean of Men and also served as assistant and associate athletic director. Carville, a member of the Faculty Athletic Board, also served as NCAA compliance liaison.
