University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame
Kevin Buckley was a four year letter winner in baseball at the University of Maine, posting a .431 batting average in 1981, a number that ranked seventh all time in school history at the time of induction. A career .340 hitter, he scored 94 runs and drove in 96. He earned All-America honors in 1981 and was named MVP of the NCAA Regional. He hodls the Maine record for highest batting average in NCAA Tournament play at .526 with three home runs and nine RBI's in nine games. Following his senior season, he was drafted by the Texas Rangers and appeared in five major league games during his professional career.
