Jack Leggett was a three-time All-Yankee Conference infielder and captained the 1976 Black Bears who finished fourth in the College World Series. His 104 hits at the end of his college career was once a Maine record. Leggett also earned All-Yankee Conference honors as a defensive back and place kicker in 1974, 1975 and 1976. He missed just four out of 50 PAT attempts in his career and still holds the record for the longest field goal at 52 yards against Delaware in 1975. Following his playing career at Maine, Leggett coached baseball at Vermont, Western Carolina and Clemson, where he was also named ACC Coach of the year.
