University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame
Regarded as one of the top lineman in University of Maine history, Harold Violette was a three-year letter winner as a member of the football team in the late 1950's. He earned All-Yankee Conference honors in both 1958 and 1959 and twice received All-Maine honors. He also earned All-New England honors in 1958 and 1959. Violette coached football at Winslow High School from 1969-1985 and served as head ice hockey coach for the Black Raiders from 1977 to 1991. He began his coaching career at Belfast High School where he coached the Lions from 1964 to 1969.
