Webb was a three-year member of the track team, serving as captain of the 1933 squad. He participated in the 1932 Olympic Trials in the pole vault, tying for third. He was the Maine Intercollegiate Track and Field pole vault champion in 1931, 1932 and 1933 setting a record in all three victories. He also placed second in the high jump each of those years. He was a member of Theta Chi, Senior Skulls and served as Class President of the Class of 1933. He was president of the St. Petersburg University of Maine Alumni Association and recipient of a 1984 Black Bear Award for outstanding service to the University.
