Francis Lindsay shared his exploits as an outstanding distance runner with teammate Harry Richardson as the pair held a lock on the Maine, New England and National cross country individual championships from 1927 to 1929. It was in 1929 when Lindsay and Richardson finished hand-in-hand for a first place tie in the National Intercollegiate Cross Country Meet held at Van Cortland Park in New York City. They also shared the Maine two mile championship from 1928 to 1930.
